Application of ScriptureScripture is the final authority on doctrine and conduct. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. The Bible is both timeless and timely, relevant to the common needs of all people at all times and to the specific problems of contemporary living. Therefore, we are committed to the equipping of Christians, through the preaching and teaching of God’s word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.
2Timothy 3:16-17 /Joshua 1:8
Creativity and InnovationIn today's rapidly changing world, forms and methods of ministry must be continually evaluated, and if necessary, altered to fit new conditions. While proven techniques should not be discarded on a whim, creativity and innovation, flexibility and adaptability are encouraged. We are more concerned with effectiveness than with adherence to tradition.
Proverbs 18:15 and Matthew 9:17
Cultural RelevanceThe church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. We try to adapt our ministry to current needs and trends in American life without compromising biblical absolutes. We also reach beyond our own culture and we seek a positive impact on other cultures with the gospel.
1Corinthians 9:19-23 / Romans 10:14-15
We believe that the primary responsibility of the pastors and teachers in the local church is to prepare God’s people for their works of service.
Ephesians 4:11-12/2Timothy 2:2
Every Member a MinisterA church should operate as a unified community of servants, with men and women using their spiritual gifts and abilities to meet the needs of the church and community. We encourage believers to discover and exercise their spiritual gifts and talents.
Romans 12:6 / 1Peter 4:10
ExcellenceExcellence honors God and inspires people. The God of our salvation deserves the best we have to offer. The Lord Himself is a God of excellence, as shown by the beauty and order of creation; further, he gave us the best that He had, His only Son. Therefore, in our ministries and activiites we will seek to maintain a high standard of excellence to the glory of God. This will be achieved when every person is exercising his or her God-given spiritual gift to the best of his or her ability.
1Corinthians 3:13 and Colossians 3:23
The FamilyWe understand the importance of family. We seek to provide an atmosphere which strengthens marriages and families. We are committed to strong children, youth and parent ministries.
Ephesians 5-6/Psalms 128:3-4/2Timothy 1:5
Kingdom-BuildingThe kingdom of Jesus Christ is far greater than any local church or denomination. We are serious about building the kingdom. We believe that God desires for us to reach as many people as possible with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. This is done by starting new churches, encouraging hurting churches, sharing what we have learned, learning from others, sending missionaries, and much more. We rejoice when other churches and Christian ministries prosper and succeed, and we are thrilled when God allows us to have a small part in the great good He is doing for them.
1Corinthians 3:6 / Ephesians 4:16
To obey Christ's great commandment in Matthew 22:37-39 ...
Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
...and to accomplish His great commission in Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
